Educational Content
As you have probably noticed, the website has undergone a major overhaul and move to a new host.
Unfortunately, my old blog posts did not make the transition. That's actually a mixed blessing. There was a lot of old stale and outdated content that I am happy to see go away. But there was also some good educational content about lighting and lenses. Fortunately, in the past couple of years I had started posting more educational content over at buymeacoffee.com (and you can help support the site there, too, if so inclined).
And I have a few videos available over on YouTube:
Talking about photographic/camera lenses
Controlling highlights with light to subject distance
Defining "Soft Light" (Size Matters)
Misconceptions and confusion about photographic lighting
Introduction to Electronic Flash
Let There Be Dark - Limiting light in the studio (controlling contrast)
Lenses and Perspective in Photography
Dolly Vs. Zoom and Perspective in Photography
Mirrorless Cameras with Studio Flash
Distance: Lenses & Perspective

I just watched your video about use of beauty dishes. I understand putting it close. What I didnt
understand is where you were aiming it. Ive been taught it should be centered. Are you suggesting it be feathered?
One other related question. Would you ever use a beauty dish with a grid - or do you think that essentially hurts its basic lighting effect?
Thanks as always
Paul
